A lot of competence for Sony's Blue Ray Disc (BD) has come out. They all try to take Sony out of market. Microsoft with his HD-DVD. But who is winning the race?
Maybe Microsoft haven't figured out some stuffs about their HD DVD player. HD-DVD DO NOT come standard in the Xbox 360. Here is where things get tricky for Microsoft Xbox. Who is gonna pay $400 for the Xbox and then pay $200 for a HD DVD Player to adapt it to their game device? A few people would do that. Just wonder those people who paid $1,000 dollars for their Xbox 360 on ebay on 2005 Christmas . Would they be ready to take $200+ dollar to put their xbox to compete in the next-gen format war? You guess!
What gonna happen with the DVD in the future is more than clear; xbox 360 game maker will be limited to develop games. Why? S-P-A-C-E. Disc's space will be the key to success in the next format war. And again, HD-DVD player is NOT standard in the Xbox 360. And developers have already complained about the lack of space in the DVD discs.
On the contrary, PS3 comes with a standard next-generation Disc Player. Even, if HD-DVD success, some extra m$ney is going to come from user's pocket. Nevertheless, there will be some people ready to pay for their HD-DVD player Good luck...
